About the public transportation


Transantiago is the public transportation system of the city of Santiago that integrates all the city's urban buses and more than 100 kilometers of the Metro, all with a single electronic payment.The system aims to improve the coverage of public transport inSantiago decreasing the number of transfers, lowering wait times and increasing the supply routes. Through a redesign of the system, is expected to improve the quality of service delivered to users.
This system is a program promoted by the Government of Chile.
Transantiago is divided into zones and various types of services:
Transantiago areas


Santiago was divided into 10 areas of service, to order theoperation of transport services that connect the boroughs of the city.
Each zone is identified with a different font and color, and are formed by a group of communes.
